Mochi NetProbe
Read full descriptionHide full description
NetProbe shows you every device on your Wi-Fi β what each one is, and what it's running. Tap scan and it finds the devices sharing your network, then names them: the printer, the thermostat, the TV, the one you don't recognise. For anything with a web interface, it reports the software behind it too. AN INVENTORY THAT READS LIKE ONE Not "192.168.0.94" but "Brother MFC-7860DW", with its manufacturer, its model, and the fact that it accepts print jobs three different ways. NetProbe asks the network five ways at once β ping, TCP, Bonjour, UPnP and the address table β because no single method finds everything. IT TELLS YOU WHAT CHANGED Anything that wasn't there last time you scanned is marked NEW. Name a device once and the name sticks, so next time you're only looking at what you haven't already accounted for. WHAT THAT BOX IS RUNNING For devices with a web interface, NetProbe reads the response the way a developer would: the web server and its version, the language and framework behind it, the security certificate and when it expires. Routers, storage boxes and cameras all give this up readily. IT SHOWS ITS WORKING Every finding carries the evidence it came from and how strongly it is held β Declared when the service named itself, Likely when it is inferred from a header or a cookie, Possible when it is only a hint in the page. A guess is never dressed up as a fact. THE USUAL TOOLS, PROPERLY DONE Ping, traceroute, port scan, DNS lookup, WHOIS, Wake-on-LAN, a Bonjour browser, and a plain view of your interfaces and routes. Custom address ranges for looking somewhere other than your own subnet. Export any scan as a report, CSV or JSON. IT STAYS ON YOUR PHONE The scan runs on the device and the results stay there. No account, no sign-up, no analytics β we do not know how many devices you have or whether you opened the app. Two features reach the internet, WHOIS and the public IP check, and both only when you tap them. WHAT IT ISN'T NetProbe reads; it does not reach in. It asks each device what it will freely say about itself and reports the answer. It does not try passwords, does not exploit anything, and cannot block a device from your network β no iPhone app can. It is a tool for understanding a network you are responsible for.
inphox
Read full descriptionHide full description
Inphox is a complete hardware diagnostic suite for iPhone and iPad: the same kind of full device checkup used by repair shops and resellers, now in your pocket. Run 30+ tests across every major system: SCREEN Touchscreen accuracy, multitouch, dead pixels, and LCD/display uniformity. AUDIO Speakers, every microphone, and wired headphones, with automatic tone-detection tests where possible, so you don't have to guess. HARDWARE Buttons, front and rear cameras (every lens), autofocus, flash, vibration motor, storage capacity, battery level and charging state, and LiDAR and TrueDepth sensors on supported models. SENSORS Face ID or Touch ID, accelerometer, gyroscope, proximity, ambient light, compass, barometer, and Ultra Wideband on supported models. CONNECTIVITY Cellular calling, charging (including wireless, on devices that support it), Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and NFC. HOW IT WORKS InPhox tries every test automatically first, reading real sensor data instead of just asking "does this work?", and only falls back to a manual pass or fail when a test needs your eyes or ears (a cracked screen, a rattling speaker). At the end you get a clear A-F grade, a result for every test, and a place to note any cosmetic damage. If a hardware component that doesn't exist on the device cannot be found, it does not check for that piece/skips over it. No account, no sign-in, no ads. Results stay on your device. Repair and resale businesses that use the InPhox intake system can give you a pairing code to send a session's results straight to them. That's optional, and only works with a code from such a business. Whether you're checking a phone before you buy it used, getting one ready to sell or trade in, or just want to know if every sensor in your own phone still works, InPhox gives you a real answer in minutes.
