Read a clue. Cross off what it rules out. Watch the consequences ripple until one arrangement survives. Zebra is a logic-grid game — the classic "the doctor lives in the red house" puzzle — built around a generator that proves every board before it reaches you. There is exactly one solution, it is always reachable by reasoning, and you are never asked to guess. TIERS THAT NAME THE TECHNIQUE Four difficulty tiers, each named after the reasoning it asks for rather than a vague star rating: cross off, chain, work out before-and-after, test a possibility. The generator computes the exact deduction depth each case requires, so the label is measured, not asserted. WHY YOU'LL STAY • A new case every day, the same one for everyone, generated offline • A streak to protect and a spoiler-free result to share • A free archive: replay any past case from its seed • Hints reveal the next real deduction and name the clue behind it WRITTEN, NOT MACHINE-TRANSLATED The clues ARE the puzzle, so they are composed natively in all five languages — English, German, Arabic, Persian and Kurdish (Sorani) — with proper right-to-left layout, localized numerals, and fonts that actually cover the Kurdish letters Ś• ڤ ڵ Ū† ŪŽ Ū•. MADE TO BE COMFORTABLE • No timer, no lives, no energy meter • Never colour as the only signal • Fully offline. No account, no sign-up FREE, HONESTLY The daily, the archive, streaks and stats are free with light optional ads. Rewarded video is opt-in and only ever buys a hint. No banner ads on the board, ever. One purchase removes ads forever — no subscription.

About

Anomaly

Something aboard is off. Anomaly is a deduction puzzle in the tradition of Einstein's riddle, dressed as a mystery on a research station in orbit. One grid, a log full of gaps, exactly one solution — and no luck involved. NEVER A GUESS Every case is built so that each step can be forced. There is exactly one solution, and a path to it that needs no trial and error. If you are stuck, you have missed something — you have not been unlucky. SIX DIFFICULTIES From introductory to extreme. The next one opens once you have solved three cases of the current level, at least one of them without a hint. Grids grow from 3Ɨ3 to 6Ɨ5. DAILY PUZZLE One case a day for everyone, with its own streak. The week is a ramp: easy on Monday, extreme on Sunday. It is never locked — full version or not. Days you missed can be caught up on in the archive; the archive is part of the full version. The streak does not count days you caught up on — it says which days you showed up. So without the archive no streak is lost, only days that are already over. HINTS THAT EXPLAIN Three stages: which log entry carries now, which cell follows from it, and finally filling it in. You pay for the look, not for the depth. Hints come from three pools — a daily allowance, the credit that solved cases earn, and purchased packs. They are spent top down: first what expires anyway, last what cost money. CONSISTENCY CHECK Is there a contradiction anywhere? The answer is exact — and limited for exactly that reason, with a cooldown instead of endless asking. BILINGUAL AND ACCESSIBLE German and English. Dynamic Type up to the accessibility sizes, VoiceOver with spoken forms of every condensed value. WHAT THE GAME IS NOT • No advertising, no tracking, no analytics, no advertising identifier • No accounts, no registration, no server — the game runs entirely offline • No subscription • No energy meter that refills, and no waiting time you can buy away PURCHASES The full version is a one-time purchase. It unlocks "Hard", "Very hard" and "Extreme" in free play, plus the note sheet, your own crew names and the archive of daily puzzles. Hints are not included — they cost the same with the full version as without, and are sold separately. Every case remains fully solvable without the full version. Emergency Lighting is a separate purchase and likewise not part of the full version: a second lighting that bathes the station in red. It changes nothing about the game. The classic one stays available to everyone, and you can switch as often as you like. Purchased hint packs are consumables and stay on the device where they were bought; the game keeps no account. The full version, by contrast, belongs to your Apple ID and can be restored.

Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is ads: Anomaly at none against Zebra's shown. Zebra's advantage is device support (3 vs 1) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17.0). On price and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.
