Quartets

Sixteen words hide four groups. Find what links them before four mistakes bring the curtain down. Bass could be a fish or an instrument. Star might be half of starfish. Every board in Quartets has a few words that seem to belong somewhere else, and only one way to sort them all. THE PROGRAM • Today's Quartet: one new board a day, the same for everyone, always free • Allegro: three boards on one clock, a new set every day • The Sunday Quintet: a bigger board each week, twenty-five words in five groups of five • Repertoire: eight packs of fifty, from Kitchen Table and Wordplay to Game Day and Passport • The Season: every past Daily, back to No. 1 HOW IT PLAYS • Tap four words, then Submit. "One away" means three of the four belong together • Hard mode hides the group names until the end • After each board, see the decoys and why they fooled you • Send your result as a grid of colored squares, with no spoilers • Keep a streak going, with a freeze each week for a day you miss HOUSE NOTES • No ads, no account and no tracking • Every difficulty has its own color and its own shape • Dynamic Type, VoiceOver, light and dark, three color themes • A streak widget for the Home Screen and the Lock Screen • Game Center laurels and leaderboards, off until you turn them on FREE SEATS AND THE SEASON TICKET Today's board, the 7 days before it, this week's Quintet, Allegro and the Starter pack are free. The Season Ticket opens every past Daily and Quintet, all the packs (new ones included), full stats, two more color themes and a second streak freeze each week. It costs $1.99 a month, $11.99 a year with a 7-day free trial, or $24.99 once. Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the period ends; manage them in Settings under your name.
