About

MusicToolKit

MusicToolKit is a simple, capable toolkit for practicing music. Five tools in one app: metronome, tuner, tuning fork, recorder and keyboard. Open it and start right away. METRONOME · Accurate clicks: no drift or lag, however long it runs · Accents, compound meters (6/8 etc.) and bar-by-bar meter changes (4/4 + 5/4 etc.) TUNER · A steady readout: the display doesn't jump around, so you can tune calmly · Piano-roll-style scrolling graph shows how your pitch moves TUNING FORK · Pick the note on a piano-style keyboard · Reference pitch can be set anywhere from 400 to 500 Hz and is shared with the tuner and keyboard. 415, 432 and 440–444 are one tap away RECORDER · Dual level graph (peak and average): clipping warnings make distortion obvious, so setting the level is easy · Lock button prevents accidental taps while recording. Levels are shown before you start · Saves as WAV / M4A. Open recordings directly in the Files app, or export via the share sheet KEYBOARD · A simple tap-to-play keyboard · Sine, square, triangle and sawtooth waveforms Tuning is equal temperament. For just intonation and other temperaments, see "MultiTuneKeys". Terms of Use (EULA): https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/

A tuner that stays calm on a bowed note. Violin, viola, cello and double bass — plus 43 more instruments, a drone, a metronome and an intonation trainer. Free, offline, no ads. BUILT FOR BOWED STRINGS • A detector made for arco tone: rich harmonics, vibrato and low strings included. The needle holds still and tells you exactly how many cents to go, instead of chasing your bow. • A reference tone on every string — hear it, match it, tune by ear the way you do in a lesson. • Reference pitch from 392 to 466 Hz, with one tap for baroque 415, orchestra 442 and 443. • Scordatura presets, Pythagorean fifths and just intonation for open strings that ring. • Fiddle cross-tunings: AEAE, ADAE and GDGD. 47 INSTRUMENTS, ONE TUNER • Bowed: violin, viola, cello, double bass, fiddle, carnatic violin, kemençe • Plucked: guitar, 12-string, bass guitar in 4 and 5 string, ukulele, mandolin, banjo, lyre • World: oud, bouzouki, balalaika, domra, bağlama, kalimba, erhu, guzheng, koto, shamisen, sanshin, charango, cavaquinho, viola caipira, bajo quinto, bajo sexto, bandurria • Wind: flute, oboe, clarinet, trumpet, horn, alto and tenor sax, trombone, euphonium, tuba — reading written pitch, so a clarinet sees its own C • Voice, with a vocal range finder PRACTICE, NOT JUST TUNING • Drone in any key: unison, fifth, octave, major and minor, in cello, organ, reed, strings, sine, tuning fork and tanpura voices. • Tanpura and shruti box for Indian classical riyaz, with sargam notation and a Sa you choose. • Metronome with subdivisions, accents, tap tempo and a beat you can see. • Intonation trainer: the drone plays, you play a scale, and a heatmap shows which notes ran sharp or flat. • Tuning fork and pitch pipe across two octaves, at your own reference pitch. FOR THE MUSIC STAND AND THE CLASSROOM • Stand mode: huge colours you can read from across the room, screen kept awake and bright. • Teacher mode: lock the pitch, instrument and tuning, then hand the whole class the same setup as a QR code. • Apple Watch app and a home screen widget for a tune-up in one tap. • Three looks, including a playful one for young beginners. PRIVATE BY DESIGN The microphone is analysed live and never recorded. No account, no sign-in, no analytics, no servers. The app does everything on your device and works in flight mode. Nothing is locked, nothing expires, and there is nothing to buy. Every instrument, every tuning, every tool.
