Tape Eater turns ordinary videos into glitchy, broken-tape looks — on purpose. This is a video effects app, not a music player: it warps video. What it does • Open your camera or a video from Photos • Push, smear, and scramble the picture until it looks like damaged VHS or a crashing file • Save a silent clip or a still — everything stays on your device Why it’s different • Built for melting video as the main toy, not a tiny filter buried in an editor • Deep live controls if you want to dig in — or tap presets and go • Includes Silt mode: a second thermal / smear look in the same app • No account. No cloud. No ads. You don’t need to know video jargon. Open a clip, mess it up, save it.
Video Thing
Read full descriptionHide full description
Video Thing mixes four videos live on your iPhone. No timeline, no clip list to manage. You perform the video with your hands, hit record when it looks the way you want, and save it to your camera roll. Load a video from your Photos into any bay, aim your camera at what's in front of you, or drop in a live signal generator. Four bays, four sources, in any combination. Each channel has its own video fader and audio fader, plus mute, solo, hide, and spot buttons. Eight blend modes to pick from — normal, screen, lighten, darken, multiply, difference, XOR, and add-wrap. Effects like color, glitch, mirror, freeze, and a matte you can draw with your finger, plus feedback loops with a Droste spiral. A luma key to drop black, a noise generator when you need one. Video Thing can react to audio too. Wire the low, mid, or high frequency band — or the master level — into any effect parameter. The picture moves with the music. Everything's live. Drag the divider to grow the monitor. Tap the picture for fullscreen. Double-tap any knob to reset it. Hit record and the whole mix saves straight to your camera roll as an mp4, in the same aspect as your source clip.
