Koe Nawin is a companion app for the traditional 81-day Buddhist practice of the nine virtues of the Buddha — a devotional chant kept by generations of Burmese Buddhists, now easy to follow wherever you are. The practice has 9 levels of 9 days each. Every day you chant that day's virtue for its set number of rounds of 108 beads. The fifth day of each level is a vegetarian day. Koe Nawin keeps track of all of it, so you can simply practise without having to remember what day you're on or how many rounds are left. TODAY See today's virtue in Burmese script with its Pali name, its meaning, how many rounds to chant, your progress through the current level, and a preview of tomorrow's virtue — all in one glance. BEAD COUNTER A ring of 108 beads turns one bead at a time as you tap, with gentle vibration on every bead and a stronger pulse at the end of each round. Choose a bell or a gong to mark the finish of a session. The screen stays on the whole time you're chanting, so you never lose your place. Already have your own physical beads? Record the rounds you chanted on those instead. Switch freely between today's scheduled practice and free chanting, any time.
