MirrorCaption is a simultaneous interpreter in your pocket. It listens to a live conversation and gives you the other language as it is spoken — in meetings, lectures, calls, and face-to-face conversations. Point your iPhone at any conversation and watch the words appear on screen the moment they are said, in the original language and translated into yours. When you're done, get a clean AI summary of everything that was said. REAL-TIME CAPTIONS AND TRANSCRIPTION Live captions appear as people speak, with high accuracy. MirrorCaption works as a speech to text app for meetings, lectures, interviews, and videos — no file to upload, no recording to process afterwards. Real-time transcription starts the second you tap record. LIVE TRANSLATION, BOTH DIRECTIONS See real-time translation of what is being said, in your own language, as it happens. The face-to-face mode splits the screen across the table, so two people speaking different languages can hold a natural conversation — each reading their own side, each in their own language. AI SUMMARIES Turn a long meeting, lecture, or call into a concise, structured recap in one tap. Get the decisions and the action items without re-reading a full transcript. WHAT YOU CAN DO • Live captions on screen for talks, videos, and calls • Real-time transcription of meetings, lectures, and interviews • Instant translation between many languages as people speak • Two-way face-to-face conversation mode with a split screen • One-tap AI summary of any session • Searchable history — save your sessions and revisit them anytime • Custom vocabulary — teach it names, brands, and jargon so they are transcribed correctly • Keeps transcribing while the screen is locked or you are in another app • Fully localized interface in many languages PERFECT FOR • Multilingual meetings, interviews, and video calls • Travelling and talking with locals • Conferences, lectures, and note-taking • Accessibility — live captions and subtitles for deaf and hard-of-hearing users • Following a conversation in a noisy room PRIVACY Audio is streamed securely to power live transcription and is not stored on your device by default — you can opt in to saving it. You stay in control of your data, and you can delete your account and your history at any time. FREE TO TRY Start with a free allowance of transcription time, no card needed. If you need more, subscriptions and one-off hour packs are available in the app, with the current price shown on the purchase screen before you buy. Payment is charged to your Apple Account, and a subscription renews automatically unless it is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel it any time in your Apple Account settings. Terms of Use: https://www.mirrorcaption.com/terms Privacy Policy: https://www.mirrorcaption.com/privacy

No button to hold. Just talk. When the other person speaks, you see the translation in your language; when you answer, they hear it in theirs. The app works out who is speaking on its own. Ten minutes free. After that, one purchase removes the limit. No monthly or weekly charges. ■ Where it helps ・Travelling — asking directions, ordering, checking a price ・Serving customers who don't share your language, at a shop, hotel or clinic front desk ・Counters and offices, explaining symptoms or paperwork ・Sitting down with a colleague, a neighbour or family who speaks another language ■ How it differs from other interpreter apps ・No push-to-talk. Start speaking and it starts listening; the translation keeps flowing as long as the conversation does ・No handing over your phone. Split view flips the top half 180° for the other person, so you stay face to face ・No account. No sign-up, no login. Open it and use it ・Nothing leaves the device. Speech recognition and translation both run on your iPhone. Your conversations are never sent to a server ・No time limit after you buy. A long meeting won't get cut off mid-sentence ・Works offline. After the one-time language download, it works on a plane or underground ■ Pricing ・Ten minutes free, in total (it is not a daily allowance that resets) ・After that, Pro removes the limit — a single purchase, no monthly or weekly charge ・Family Sharing supported ■ Languages English and Japanese, plus Chinese (Simplified and Traditional), Korean, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese (Brazil), Russian, Vietnamese, Thai, Arabic, Dutch and Turkish, in any pair. Only the languages your device's speech recognition and translation support are shown. ■ What it does ・Live captions. The translation appears while you are still speaking and firms up when the phrase ends ・Spoken translations, switchable for the other person and for you independently ・Split view, with the top half rotated 180° for the person across from you ・Speaker override. If the automatic detection gets it wrong, pin it to "Me" or "Them" ・Saved conversation history, shareable as text ・Large text mode, readable across a counter ・Microphone sensitivity adjustment ・The screen stays awake while you're interpreting ■ Being straight with you ・It struggles with jargon and long sentences. Short phrases translate far better ・Because everything runs on the device, the translation is not as strong as a large cloud model. In exchange it is cheap, fast, and private ・The microphone mutes while a translation is spoken aloud, so it goes more smoothly if the other person waits for it to finish ・Requires iOS 26 or later, iPhone 11 or later. An Apple Intelligence device is not required ■ Privacy The app collects no data. Neither your conversations nor your usage is sent anywhere. ■ Support Send questions and bug reports from the support page.

Verdict
The clearest difference is iOS requirement: MirrorCaption at 18.0 against Interpreter's 26.5. On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.
