Backgammon Pip · Fair Dice

Backgammon with dice you can check. Before the first roll, Pip locks in every roll of the game and shows you the fingerprint of that lock. When the game ends, the lock is opened for you to see, and every roll matches. The app could not have chosen a roll after seeing the board, and the screen says so in one line. NO ADS, NOTHING TO BUY One price. No coins, no energy, no chests, no subscription, no interruptions. The whole game, forever. A REAL BOARD A wooden case that opens on the bar, felt, bevelled checkers that fly between the points, and dice that tumble in 3D and land on the number they were locked to. Sounds of wood and felt, not beeps. Light and dark. THREE COMPUTER OPPONENTS, LABELLED AS COMPUTERS Nobody pretends to be a person. Easy, medium and strong; the strong one looks two moves ahead, uses the cube, and refuses a direct shot when a safe play exists. TWO PEOPLE, ONE PHONE Pass and play on the same board. COMMENTARY FROM THE FACTS A short word after each turn: a point made, a hit, a blot left in range, a prime taking shape. Computed from the position, never invented. Switch it off in settings if you prefer silence. THE FULL RULES Bar, hits, bearing off, forced use of both dice, the larger-die rule, doubles, the doubling cube, gammon and backgammon. The engine never offers an illegal move. Pip is made by one person who was tired of coin casinos wearing a board.

Backgammon, the way it should be on a phone. No ads interrupting your turn. Nothing to buy. No sign-up, no account, and no internet connection needed at any point. Play against the computer or hand the phone to a friend. Your game saves itself the moment you close it, so a single match can last all week. WHAT YOU GET • The full game: hitting and re-entering from the bar, bearing off, gammons and backgammons • A real doubling cube, with ownership passing to whoever accepts the double • Three computer difficulties, from a loose racer to an opponent that plays out whole turns in its head before it commits to one • Two players on one device, passing the phone back and forth • Five board themes: Neon Night, Classic Wood, Ocean, Synthwave, and Felt & Gold • Play as white or black, and flip the board so your home sits where you expect it • Tap to move, or drag the checker where you want it • Undo any move before you end your turn • A How to Play screen covering the whole game, the cube included • Haptics tuned per action, and sound you can switch off WHAT IT DOES NOT DO • No ads. Not banners, not videos, not "watch this to keep playing" • No in-app purchases and no subscription. Every theme and every mode is there on first launch • No account, no email, no sign-in • No internet connection. The app never makes a network request, so it plays identically on a plane or in a basement • No tracking, no analytics, no data collection of any kind. There is nothing to collect Built by one person who wanted a backgammon app that was not trying to sell him something every ninety seconds. Questions or bugs: eric@erichunsicker.com
