Learn German, Spanish and Turkish from English, at your own pace, with Kalimo. Kalimo is a language-learning app that teaches German, Spanish and Turkish from A1 to C2 on the Common European Framework (CEFR), explained in English from the first word to the last. Every level is filled with real lessons; short, gamified sessions move you forward in a few minutes a day. IT FINDS YOUR LEVEL FIRST A short placement test on first launch puts you where you actually are, not at the beginning of a book you have already read. LEARN BY SPEAKING Every lesson has a speaking part where you say the sentences out loud. Your pronunciation is scored in real time: you see which word and which sound came out wrong, and you correct it with hints written in English. You are graded in German on German, in Spanish on Spanish, in Turkish on Turkish. KALIMO IS ALWAYS THERE Kalimo, the mascot teacher, explains the lesson in his own voice, guides you through it and celebrates when you get it right. Everything he says is in English; every word and sentence of your new language is read in its own voice. THE READING SHELF Hundreds of articles written for your level, in German, Spanish and Turkish. Kalimo reads them aloud one sentence at a time, and the English of the line he is reading appears underneath it while he reads. Words you have learned are marked green in the text. VOCABULARY PRACTICE Flashcards, matching, gap-fill and spaced repetition: the words you learn come back before you forget them, at the moment the repetition is due. MOTIVATION A daily goal, a streak, quests and weekly leagues bring you back. Your progress is visible at a glance: which level you are on, where you stand this week. IT WORKS OFFLINE Download the audio packs and you can study without a connection and still hear every word. START FREE The first pair of lessons and the first article are free. Every pair of lessons after that, every new article and every level test opens with a short rewarded ad; what you open stays open, and there is no daily limit. A full-screen ad follows the lesson questions and the level test; every third lesson offers a rewarded ad that refills your hearts on the way in. A lesson entered right after an ad opens without one. There are no ads on launch and none along the edge of the screen. Hearts: you start with five, a wrong answer costs one, and one heart comes back every 10 minutes. If you run out you can wait, watch a short ad, or refill from the shop. On a subscription the heart counter never runs at all. SUBSCRIPTION A subscription removes every ad, and Talk with Kalimo and the pronunciation studio are subscriber-only. The yearly plan starts with 7 days free; your card is not charged when the trial begins and the first charge is taken at the end of day 7. Cancel from your Apple ID subscription settings before the trial ends and you pay nothing. LOCATION Your approximate location — a rough area of about 5 km — is used only to suggest learners near you; your precise location is never stored. Refuse the permission and the "nearby" section is hidden entirely. 13 AND OVER A calm, safe design; the app is for ages 13 and over. Personal data is never sold, and an account is opened only with Google or Apple. Ready? Open your first lesson today and say your first sentence in five minutes.
