BakePlanner

When does the sourdough have to go on so the bread comes out of the oven at 6 pm on Saturday? BakePlanner works it out and reminds you of every step. In BakePlanner a recipe is not just a list of ingredients but steps with durations. You choose βDone byβ or βStart fromβ, and the app calculates the start time for the scald, the sourdough, kneading, folding, shaping and baking. βTurn on the ovenβ it adds by itself. Every step comes with a reminder on iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch. The next step sits as a widget on the Home Screen and as a Live Activity on the Lock Screen. IN THE KITCHEN Bake Mode shows one step in big type, with its ingredients at the planned serving size, and reads it aloud if you like. Ask Siri for the next step, mark it done or push it back without touching the screen with doughy fingers. BAKERβS CALCULATORS β’ Starter TA: the recipe wants a starter at TA 150 and you keep yours at TA 200? The app converts the amount of starter and the water in the main dough. β’ Replace flour: spelt instead of wheat, wholegrain instead of white. The water follows the new flour, with advice on handling it. β’ Dough temperature: the water temperature for the dough temperature you want, with preferment and friction factor. β’ Serving size or dough weight, as you like. Dough yield, hydration and bakerβs percentages are calculated along. CARING FOR THE SOURDOUGH Recurring recipes such as refreshing the starter are planned anew by the app after each time. In the feeding diary you note the time to peak, the float test and remarks. RECIPES Photograph a recipe from a book or share a web page from Safari: BakePlanner reads ingredients, components and steps and turns βfold every 30 minutes, 4xβ into timed steps. In the shared recipe database you find recipes from other bakers. They are translated on the device, with a glossary that gets scald, bulk fermentation and starter right. Your own recipes stay on the device until you publish them. No account is needed; signing in with Apple is voluntary. SHOPPING AND KEEPING RECORDS The shopping list is sorted by shelf and takes the amounts at the chosen serving size. The baking history keeps a photo, measurements and the result of every baking day. The top list shows what turned out best. BakePlanner β say when the bread should be ready. The app works out the rest.
Sourdough Bake Timer

Sourdough doesn't wait for you. Levain runs your whole bake from one timeline β every stage, every fold, every proof β and its alarms ring through silent mode so you never sleep through a shape again. Most timers count down once. A real loaf needs eight stages across eighteen hours, half of them overnight. Levain was built for that. ONE TIMER, EVERY STAGE Chain autolyse, mix, bulk ferment, folds, shape, cold retard and bake into a single schedule. Every step shows the clock time it will actually happen, before you start β so you know tonight whether you are pulling bread out at 7am or at noon. Long bakes get Next Day markers where the timeline crosses midnight. ALARMS THAT ACTUALLY WAKE YOU Stage alerts ring through silent mode and Focus, the way a Clock alarm does. Loud alarms are per stage: quiet for the overnight retard, loud for the oven. LIVE ON YOUR LOCK SCREEN The countdown lives in the Dynamic Island and on your Lock Screen. Glance at the stage name, the step number and the time left without opening the app. DOUGH THAT RUNS LATE When a stage ends the clock keeps counting up instead of resetting. Dough is ready when it is ready β Levain waits, and tells you how far over you are. BUILD YOUR OWN BREAD Drag stages into a timeline, scrub durations on a rotary dial, and drop ingredients, temperatures and humidity targets onto any step. Baker's percentage is calculated as you go, with levain counted as half flour and half water. A JOURNAL OF EVERY LOAF Log a bake and it becomes a photo on your calendar. The background is lifted off your loaf on device, so the bread sits as a sticker on the day you baked it. Notes, a gallery, the ingredients and the timeline it really ran on are kept as a snapshot β editing the recipe later never rewrites history. Starts with Classic Sourdough and Sourdough Focaccia. No account, and nothing leaves your phone. FREE AND PRO Free includes 3 recipes with the full multi-stage timer, loud alarms and Live Activity. Levain Pro unlocks unlimited recipes and the full photo bake journal, with a 7-day free trial. Available monthly, yearly, or as a one-time purchase. Monthly and yearly plans renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel in Settings.
