MIDIHuman Comp is an AUv3 MIDI processor for the chord part β€” organ, piano, pads, guitar. It makes no sound of its own: your chords go in and come out on their way to your instrument, played the way a comping player would play them β€” a little different every time round. It never writes new chords for you. It works on top of what you play: variations happen only on the steps you mark, only as often as you set, and always on the chord your loop plays there. HUMANIZE AND GROOVE - A chord lands a little late now and then β€” the whole chord together, never smeared into a strum β€” and velocities move - Quantize toward a grid and add swing LEARN - Hears the key β€” or set it yourself - Remembers the chord on every 16th (up to six notes each), in loops of 1, 2, 4 or 8 bars, and names it - PLAY keeps the learned chords going by themselves; FREEZE keeps them exactly as they are VARY AND FILL - On a chord: an octave on top, the next inversion, a top note that leans and resolves, a staccato chop, a re-strike - Between chords: organ stabs, and chords that arrive early - Eight chord fills β€” inversion climbs and drops, stabs, triplet stabs, doublings, a drop-out, an anticipation. Tap FILL or set Auto Fill - Swaps: move everything an octave, or spread the voicings from close to open PRESETS - Factory presets: Organ Stabs, Gospel Push, Soft Pads, Funk Chops, Harmony Lines - Your own presets and stored chord loops; host parameters for automation - A searchable User Guide inside the plug-in WITH THE MIDIHUMAN FAMILY Load MIDIHuman Drums, Bass or Lead in the same host session and they find each other: one shared groove, fills that start and hit together, and a FOLLOW fader for each sibling. - One shared key with Bass and Lead; voicings kept above Bass and below Lead - Sends your chords to Bass, so its walks and fills follow your changes - Harmonize: now and then doubles Lead's line a 3rd or 6th below - With Drums: lean on the kick and sit in its pocket Each MIDIHuman app is sold separately and works on its own. REQUIREMENTS - An AUv3 host that loads MIDI processors and provides tempo and transport. Tested in Loopy Pro. - A chord sound after it β€” an AUv3 instrument, another app or hardware. - Without the host's clock it still humanizes; learning, variations and fills need the clock. - iPad and iPhone.

About

The Keystone

The Keystone dials in the sound and spirit of the early-’70s Bay Area club scene to your iPhone and iPad. More than half a century later, that music is still being playedβ€”and guitarists are still chasing those tones. Connect to your audio interface, direct to your studio, powered speakers or headphone, or send to an amp and play live. Musician and developer Mike Lawson spent years performing and recording with Merl Saunders and recording/playing with musicians from that scene. The Keystone grew out of those experiences and decades of chasing the sound as a working guitarist. He created this rig from his own live and studio settings, pedals, from authentic schematics and calibrations to his own live rig. The Keystone puts a little of that magic within reach, without the vintage-gear hunt. At the center is Quackmaster III: a touch-sensitive envelope filter with the deep, vocal quack that makes this style of guitar playing so much fun. Around it are bell-like cleans, warm amplifier breakup, singing sustain, spring reverb, phase, octave and delay, even per-accurate amps with their mods. Choose from 65 factory presets or turn the knobs and find your own sound. The effects and settings, attention to details and a few Easter eggs, this is a fun to use as it is to play through. The Keystone includes both the standalone app and an AUv3 plug-in for GarageBand, Logic Pro for iPad and other compatible iOS hosts. Plug into a compatible audio interface to play through the app, or use the plug-in in your recording sessions. One purchase includes the complete rig and AUv3 plug-in for iOS.
