About

NightMonitor

**NightMonitor is a standalone Apple Watch app designed to alert you during nighttime events (nightmares, sleepwalking, night terrors, snoring).** I originally created NightMonitor for myself. As a sleepwalker who also snores, I wanted to reduce nighttime disruptions for my partner while also trying to feel more rested in the morning. The app was born from this personal need: having discreet support directly on my wrist throughout the night. After using it for several months, I no longer spend a night without it, and my partner and I have regained a much better quality of sleep. Start a session before going to sleep. NightMonitor locally monitors changes in heart rate and movement on your Apple Watch to identify unusual patterns. When an event appears to require your attention, the watch provides a configurable haptic alert. **Key Features** - Overnight monitoring directly from your Apple Watch, with no companion app required. - Local analysis of heart rate and movement during a session. - Adjustable haptic alerts: sensitivity, intensity, duration, and minimum time between alerts. - Anti-snoring option: local detection of persistent snoring with configurable haptic feedback. - Audio snippets option: locally stores a short recording around an alert so you can replay it directly from your watch. - Night summary: sleep score, heart rate and movement graphs, and alert history. - Self-improvement: the more you wear your watch while sleeping, the more the algorithm adapts and improves. NightMonitor can also be used as a personal tracking tool for people experiencing nighttime stress or post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). However, it is neither a treatment nor a diagnostic tool: the app never replaces care or guidance from a healthcare professional. **Your Data Stays Under Your Control** NightMonitor runs entirely independently on your Apple Watch and does not require an Internet connection. Session data, events, and any audio snippets remain on the device. The app does not require an account and does not transmit any information over the Internet: everything is processed and stored locally. **Important** NightMonitor is a wellness and personal tracking app. It does not detect, diagnose, or treat sleep disorders, nightmares, snoring, sleep apnea, or any other medical condition. Alerts may be missing, delayed, or inaccurate. Do not use NightMonitor for emergencies or to make medical decisions. Consult a healthcare professional with any questions regarding your sleep or health. Continuous use of heart rate, motion sensors, and the microphone may significantly reduce battery life.
