About

uSSH

Features

uSSH is an SSH terminal for Mac, iPad and iPhone that answers the question every other client skips: is this really my server? HOST KEYS, PROVEN BY DNS The first time an ordinary SSH client meets a server, it shows you a fingerprint and hopes you'll check it. uSSH checks for you. It looks up the server's SSHFP records and validates the full DNSSEC chain itself — with its own strict resolver and pinned root trust anchors, never trusting the network's DNS. When the chain verifies, you connect knowing the key belongs to the host. When it doesn't, uSSH shows you exactly why, with a step-by-step trace of every signature it checked — including cryptographic proof when a record genuinely doesn't exist. Verified or manually accepted keys are pinned, so any later change stands out immediately. A TERMINAL THAT FILLS THE WINDOW Text is drawn by a fast Metal renderer. Resize a window freely: instead of leaving dead strips at the edges, uSSH imperceptibly scales the session so the grid always fills the window exactly — or, if you prefer, snaps the window to the grid. Includes hundreds of built-in color themes, and full mouse and clipboard support. Presenting in a screen share? Tap the lock in the status bar to freeze the terminal at its current rows and columns, then maximize: the text scales up to fill the screen at the same layout, so everyone on the call can read it and nothing reflows mid-demo. NATIVE TMUX Attach to tmux in control mode and its windows and panes become real uSSH tabs and split views — native scrolling, selection, and fonts, not a text-mode facsimile. Sessions survive dropped connections; uSSH reconnects and reattaches. Multiple windows of the same session stay in sync. YOUR KEYS, YOUR AGENT Import your Ed25519, ECDSA, and RSA keys once and they live in the Keychain. A built-in agent unlocks them once per session, and uSSH can also talk to external key agents such as 1Password, so private keys never have to leave the vault. Passwords and interactive prompts work too. YOUR SERVERS IN FINDER AND FILES Turn a bookmark into a location in Finder on the Mac or the Files app on iPad and browse the server over SFTP: open remote files in your favorite editor, save straight back, and force a resync whenever you want to be sure you're current. MADE FOR IPHONE DUO Open it up and the terminal takes the whole inner screen, right up to the edge beside the camera. One tap in the status bar hides the toolbars for a full-screen terminal, with your host-key verdict still in view. Fold it halfway like a laptop and the terminal moves above the fold, with the keyboard below. EVERYWHERE YOU WORK Bookmarks sync through iCloud between your Macs, iPads and iPhones. On iPad, open multiple windows side by side. Connections stay healthy with keepalives and automatic reconnect with backoff, and torrents of output won't freeze the app — flow control keeps Ctrl-C responsive even mid-flood. uSSH is free to try. After the trial, unlock it with a subscription or a single lifetime purchase — same features either way. Built for people who ssh for a living, by someone who does.
