Verdict
The clearest difference is monetization model: Cyclone at free with in-app purchases against Pflotsh Storm's subscription. Cyclone also leads on rating (4.5 vs 4.0) and ratings volume (98 vs 4). Pflotsh Storm's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and review sentiment (85% vs 61%). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Cyclone sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Pflotsh Storm sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $6.99 per year. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
Cyclone holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Cyclone has 98 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 61% of Cyclone's written reviews are positive against 85% of Pflotsh Storm's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Cyclone ships an update every 5 months, Pflotsh Storm every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on November 6, 2026 and November 5, 2026 respectively.
