IkiJime Tool is a fishing app that helps anglers dispatch their fish quickly and humanely using the ikijime method of brain destruction, a method scientifically proven to minimise stress for the fish while also maximising its eating qualities. The app provides convenient “network free” access to cool photos and x-rays (together with helpful information on the brain location and other interesting fishy facts) for over 200 popular species of fish and sharks targeted by anglers worldwide. The latest 3.0.4 version of this app is our most comprehensive update yet, using completely updated back end code, which results in an optimised search function with speedier lookups of the restructured database. You can still use your GPS and let the app automatically sort its database depending on your location. Or you can search using our traditional search by region, subregion and water type, or you may prefer the "Text Search" function to examine the entire www.ikijime.com database quickly and easily in alphabetical order. Alternatively, the "Taxonomic Search" allows you to view your fish of interest (and their close relatives) by their scientific names. For convenience you can shortlist your favourite fish species to your own "Favourites" list which makes finding them even easier. Once you have selected your fish from the database by hitting "Go Fish", the fishes data page will appear with many fishy facts including alternative names, description, distribution, common and maximum sizes and more. You can then hit the x-ray button on the top right to use the very cool slide tool that shows the brain location of your fish superimposed as a white spot over easily recognised external landmarks. Stick your brain spike into the spot, the fish is instantly and humanely killed, and you have dinner ! Other useful features include a "Camera" function that allows you to take pictures of your catch to send to your friends for identification or bragging rights, and the "Settings" page, where you can adjust the default app options to your liking, sync with the database to retrieve information on new fish species as they arrive, or download PDF brochures to print out, laminate and take fishing with you. Like our previous Ikijime Tool Extreme app, the latest version of Ikijime Tool will work in regions where there is no phone or internet coverage (after all, the best fishing spots tend to be in the most remote areas !). All you have to do is download the app from the store then sync the app (in the setting section) to ensure that the entire www.ikijime.com database is instantly available on your phone at your fingertips where ever you are on earth. Users who already had our previous versions of Ikijime Tool should be able upgrade to the new app without cost. Otherwise, new users will be prompted to purchase the app after 10 database searches. Thanks to the Ocean Health Foundation and NSW Fisheries Trust for their financial support, as well as the QLD Government Business Basics Grants Program, all of whom have contributed funds to partially defray the cost of developing this app. For those Governments or other institutions wanting to increase the number of species in the database for their region, please contact us on info@ikijime.com.

The fishing information contained in the popular publication Precision Trolling is a troller’s dream come true. Dubbed “the Troller’s Bible” by the tens of thousands of anglers who use this information to target fish at specific depths, Precision Trolling is just what the name implies. Precision Trolling is a method of fishing that allows anglers to accurately predict the running depths of their favorite lures and diving devices! By manipulating lead length anglers can easily “aim” their favorite fishing lures at specific depths, accurately target fish they are seeing on their sonar while avoiding costly snagged lures. Even better, once a productive lead length is determined, it’s easy to duplicate that lure and lead length combination with other lines, putting more lures in the strike zone! The Precision Trolling Data App goes a step further. Once an angler has determined that a particular lure and lead length are effective at catching fish, it’s easy to search for other lures in the list of Precision Trolling App that achieve similar depths. Once a productive depth is determined where fish are biting, it’s a logical step to try different lures at the same depth to determine which lure or lures fish react best to. The new Precision Trolling Data App allows anglers to access a wealth of trolling data. The familiar “Dive Curves” made popular in the Precision Trolling book are now incorporated into easy to use “pickers” or “wheels”. The Data Wheels let you adjust the “feet down” to determine the “feet back”. This is particularly useful if you want to target fish at a certain depth that you are seeing on your sonar unit. The Data Wheel also allows anglers to adjust the “feet back” to determine the “feet down” that the lure will dive. This a fast and effective way of zeroing in on a target depth with any of the lures or diving devices included in the Precision Trolling app. For more information on Precision Trolling and how to become a better troller click here: www.precisiontrollingdata.com Precision Trolling Data LLC owns a patent U.S. Patent No. 7,113,449 entitled “Marine Electronics With Lure Depth Analyzer” issued September 26, 2006 which prevents other companies/individuals from providing lure data on an electronic device.
