NICU Fluids vs Complete ABG
Price, ratings, monetisation and update history for both apps, side by side — with what reviewers say about each.
NICU Fluids
This medical calculator helps healthcare professionals quickly and accurately compute IV fluid rates, glucose infusion rates, and electrolyte levels for neonates. It's designed for nurses, students, and physicians caring for critically ill infants.
- GIR calculator (single or multiple drips)
- Electrolyte calculator (single or multiple drips)
- FENa calculator
- Accurate calculations for neonates
- Developed by a neonatal-perinatal fellow

NICU Fluids is a fast, clean set of calculators for clinicians managing intravenous fluids in neonates and children. Three tools, one tap apart. Electrolytes Enter the patient's weight, then add each drip with its dextrose, rate, NaCl, NaAcetate, and K. Results update as you type: GIR in mg/kg/min, total fluids in mL/kg/day, and sodium, chloride, acetate, and potassium in mEq/kg/day. Turn on calcium and magnesium for two more columns with gluconate and sulfate equivalents. Presets follow whichever field you're in, so NS, ½NS, ¼NS, and the acetate strengths are one tap away. Start with a single drip and add up to six. GIR A dedicated glucose infusion rate screen for when that's all you need. Up to eight drips, dextrose presets, and a solver that takes a target GIR and concentration and gives you the mL/hr, with the option to account for drips already running. FENa Enter serum and urine sodium and creatinine to get fractional excretion of sodium, with a plain-language interpretation. Switch between neonate and child/adult thresholds, since term neonates run higher at baseline, and see a reminder about diuretics and preterm variability. Also included -Results rounded to two decimal places, shown in blue so nothing reads as an abnormal flag -Light and dark themes, eight accent colors, fourteen font choices, and adjustable text size -No account, no ads, no data collection. Everything stays on your device. Formulas GIR (mg/kg/min) = Σ (% dextrose × mL/hr) ÷ (6 × weight in kg) Total fluids (mL/kg/day) = Σ mL/hr × 24 ÷ weight in kg Electrolyte (mEq/kg/day) = mEq/L × mL/hr × 24 ÷ 1000 ÷ weight in kg FENa (%) = (UNa × PCr) ÷ (PNa × UCr) × 100 NICU Fluids is a calculation aid for licensed healthcare professionals and does not replace clinical judgment, institutional protocols, or verification of orders.
Complete ABG
This medical app simplifies Arterial Blood Gas (ABG) diagnosis by focusing on the Henderson-Hasselbalch equation. It offers bedside interpretation, extended analysis with various gap calculations, and a flowchart for diagnostic approaches.
- Bedside ABG interpretation
- Extended ABG analysis
- Anion gap calculation
- Delta Delta gap calculation
- Osmolar gap calculation
- Flowchart diagnostic algorithm

This app helps in ABG diagnosis and make understanding this complex subject easy. It is designed as H and and puts the HH equation at the centre stage. On the first screen it CLEARLY shows that bicarbonate is a calculated parameter. Bicarbonate changes with change in pH and and CO2. Play with the app to understand this relationship and by doing this you actually learn the HH equation. This App. works in three steps 1. Bedside ABG. 2. Extended part. 3. Flow chart 1. Bedside ABG : Useful for making decisions at the bedside. Simple and clear it tells the user as to what matters at bedside. Calculates AaDO2, on the basis of entered PaO2 and FiO2 values, considering atm.pressure of 760 mm Hg and Resp.Quotiant of 0.8. ( use our app on Aa for details ) 2. Extended ABG : Extended interpretation is provided on the basis of Anion gap, Delta Delta gap, Osmolar gap, Urinary Anion gap and urinary potassium level. 3. Flowchart : Algorithm is available to learn the approach used in this app for arriving at the diagnosis. Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Complete ABG at 5.0 against NICU Fluids's 4.3. Complete ABG also leads on update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 158 months) and device support (4 vs 2). NICU Fluids's advantage is ratings volume (7 vs 1). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.
