Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Long Narde at 4.7 against Backgammon's 4.1. Long Narde also leads on update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 11 months). Backgammon's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 2). On price, review sentiment, ratings volume and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Long Narde sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Backgammon asks for nothing beyond the download.
Long Narde holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.1. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 320 and 197 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 27% of Long Narde's written reviews are positive against 29% of Backgammon's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Long Narde ships an update every 3 weeks, Backgammon every 11 months. The most recent releases landed on October 1, 2026 and September 30, 2026 respectively.
