Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is update cadence: Cell BloX at every 3 weeks against Cyborgs's every 16 months. Cell BloX also leads on rating (4.5 vs 4.1) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). Cyborgs's advantage is review sentiment (99% vs 78%) and ratings volume (48 vs 6). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Cyborgs sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Cell BloX sells 4 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

ReceptionRating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings

Cell BloX holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Cyborgs has 48 ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 99% of Cyborgs's written reviews are positive against 78% of Cell BloX's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

Cyborgs ships an update every 16 months, Cell BloX every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 4, 2026 and October 1, 2026 respectively.
