We read the long news stories. You get the brief. Every news story is short and clear, and has the same structure every time: who was involved, what happened, when and where it took place, and why it matters. World news. US news. Business. Sports. Local news and weather. All in one consistent format that is quick to read and easy to scan. It's not social media. It's not a feed. It's not a chat app. It's your brief — fast, structured, and clear.

Verdict
The clearest difference is review sentiment: BriefBrief at 100% against Breitbart's 35%. BriefBrief also leads on rating (5.0 vs 3.9) and ads (none vs shown). Breitbart's advantage is update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 4 months) and ratings volume (1.8K vs 1). On price, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
BriefBrief holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 3.9. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Breitbart has 1.8K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 35% of Breitbart's written reviews are positive against 100% of BriefBrief's.
Breitbart ships an update every 2 weeks, BriefBrief every 4 months. The most recent releases landed on October 16, 2026 and October 17, 2026 respectively.
