Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is update cadence: Alien at every 2 months against LEGO® Star Wars™'s every 7 months. Alien also leads on review sentiment (80% vs 59%) and rating (4.5 vs 4.2). LEGO® Star Wars™'s advantage is ratings volume (32K vs 1.3K) and iOS requirement (9.0 vs 16.5). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

CostPrice · In-app purchases · Ads · Monetization

Both are free to download. LEGO® Star Wars™ sells 10 one-off in-app purchases and Alien sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

ReceptionRating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings

Alien holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: LEGO® Star Wars™ has 32K ratings behind it against 1.3K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 59% of LEGO® Star Wars™'s written reviews are positive against 80% of Alien's.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

LEGO® Star Wars™ ships an update every 7 months, Alien every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on November 7, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
