Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Readfeed at 3.8 against NetGalley Shelf's 2.1. Readfeed also leads on review sentiment (57% vs 20%) and update cadence (every 6 weeks vs every 6 months). NetGalley Shelf's advantage is ratings volume (83 vs 9) and chart position (#128 vs unranked). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.
