The clearest difference is review sentiment: PTT 好讀版 at 67% against Newtalk新聞's 17%. PTT 好讀版 also leads on ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 5 weeks vs every 3 months). Newtalk新聞's advantage is rating (4.0 vs 1.0) and in-app purchases (none vs 1). On price, ratings volume and device support there is nothing between them.
Scored on Price · Rating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings · Update frequency · Ads · In-app purchases · Monetization · Best chart rank · Devices · Requires iOS
Both are free to download. PTT 好讀版 sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Newtalk新聞 asks for nothing beyond the download.
Newtalk新聞 holds the better App Store score, 4.0 against 1.0. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 1 and 1 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 67% of PTT 好讀版's written reviews are positive against 17% of Newtalk新聞's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
PTT 好讀版 ships an update every 5 weeks, Newtalk新聞 every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 18, 2026 respectively.
