Create and manipulate beautiful polyhedrons without any mathematical knowledge needed. With many patterns, transformations, and color schemes to combine, you can create thousands of stunning visual combinations you may save as still or animated images. Best, see your creations alive around you thanks to Augmented Reality. Polyhedra is an application to represent and manipulate polyhedrons using Conway’s notation. You can apply Conway’s transformations to a seed polyhedron chosen from the Platonic solids (tetrahedron, cube, octahedron, dodecahedron and icosahedron), prisms, and antiprisms. Supported transformations are: ambo, bevel, chamfer, dual, expand, gyro, join, kis, lace, loft, meta, ortho, propellor, quinto, snub, stake, subdivide, triangulate, and truncate. Most important of all, no mathematics knowledge is needed to enjoy.

Polyhedron and Polyhedra is an application which helps you to learn about or explore platonic solids, archimedean solids, catalan solids or polyhedral compounds. Without knowledge of mathematics or polyhedron, you can easily interact with the 3d solids by this application, So, you will become more familiar with the polyhedrons, and you may enjoy these abstract solids as fascinating formative arts. The main advantage of the app is that it offers a large variety of polyhedral compounds with parameters and 3d morphing models between different polyhedra or compounds. By choosing a model, and by setting colors and parameters optionally, you will find various types of 3d shapes including wonderful shapes, mysterious artistic shapes, and strange eccentric shapes, which will be interesting for you. Features: - Swipe or touch gesture will rotate, zoom or move the object. So, you can observe it from various angles or positions. (You can observe it even from inside.) - Switches between showing and hiding each face of the polyhedron, and switches between showing and hiding each component of compounds - Function to display the edges of the polyhedra with selectable thickness and color - For each platonic solid, each archimedean solid or each catalan solid, the app can provide the compound from 14 to 20 kinds, and it can also provide the compounds which are consisting of two or more different polyhedra (more than 700 in total) - Morphing mode, in which you can change or morph one solid into another solid through a seamless transition - The app includes many color patterns for the faces of the polyhedron. - Functions to display basic informations about the polyhedron, and to open the wikipedia sites about the related items in Safari - Slider controllers to reduce z-fighting (screen flicker) - Save PNG images to camera roll

Verdict
The clearest difference is review sentiment: Polyhedron and Polyhedra Vol.1 at 100% against Polyhedra 3D's 75%. Polyhedron and Polyhedra Vol.1 also leads on iOS requirement (13.0 vs 16.0). Polyhedra 3D's advantage is update cadence (every 4 months vs every 15 months) and rating (5.0 vs 4.8). On ratings volume, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Polyhedra 3D costs $1.99 and Polyhedron and Polyhedra Vol.1 $2.99 up front. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
Polyhedra 3D holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 4 and 4 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 75% of Polyhedra 3D's written reviews are positive against 100% of Polyhedron and Polyhedra Vol.1's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Polyhedra 3D ships an update every 4 months, Polyhedron and Polyhedra Vol.1 every 15 months. The most recent releases landed on September 6, 2026 and June 11, 2026 respectively.
