Rapid earthquake location and magnitude verification has never been easier. Quick Quake is also a great educational tool – simply use the demo data to see how P (primary) and S (secondary) waves are used to determine the location of an earthquake. Quick Quake is an earthquake data analysis tool that allows users to quickly determine the epicentre and magnitude of an earthquake by simply picking a P wave and S wave arrival from a single seismograph, then moving the epicentre around a map until the seismograms from the other stations line up in time. The Seismology Research Centre has developed Quick Quake so that users of the Quake Server seismic observatory data management system can quickly verify the automatic event notifications that Quake Server sends out by email. The traditional method of locating earthquakes can take anywhere from 10-20 minutes, but with Quick Quake you can verify or refine the automatic eqServer location and magnitude in less than a minute. How to use Quick Quake with the demo data: • Select which station you wish to use to pick a P and S wave (the “key site”) and hit the target icon • Drag the P (primary wave) marker to the right until it aligns with the first signal that you can see above the background noise • Drag the S (secondary wave) marker to the left until it aligns with the significant increase in signal level (see the screenshots as a guide) • Pinch to zoom the time and amplitude scale if you need better resolution • Continue to the locating screen, where you can drag the target around the circle until the waveforms on the left of the screen roughly align with the P and S travel time guide lines It’s that simple. The solution should work no matter which station you choose, but the closer the station the easier the P and S wave arrival times will be to pick. If you have an Quake Server, just log in using your credentials and the server's IP address or domain name, then you can browse through recent (and past) automatic events and proceed as above. On the “Select a Key Site” screen, you can defer stations from your calculations using a left-swipe, or restore them with a right-swipe. You can also sort your stations in order of distance from the selected “key site”. On the “Locate Event” screen there is are options to adjust the P-wave and S-wave travel velocities to suit your local conditions, as well as the depth of the earthquake. The iPad version shows quick-adjustment buttons, and iPhone and iPad versions include three presets for P and S velocity “models” - now with a customisable magnitude formula. Whether you're tracking minor tremors or major seismic events, this powerful earthquake app gives you the tools to stay safe, aware, and up to date. Built on a focused keyword strategy and powered by trusted sources like USGS and global earthquake networks, Earthquake Tracker Alerts is your go-to tool for understanding earthquake activity locally and worldwide. The app offers comprehensive earthquake tracking features that allow users to explore and monitor earthquakes happening around the world. Choose to view earthquakes by the last 24 hours, the last 7 days, or select a custom date range for complete control over your data view. Whether you want to see recent activity or study patterns over time, this feature makes it easy to dive deeper into seismic data. Use the interactive world map to visualize all earthquake activity in real time. Every recorded quake is mapped out for quick reference, helping you spot regions of high seismic activity or identify earthquakes near your location. The map is intuitive and allows you to zoom and scroll across the globe to view data with precision. Every earthquake entry includes detailed information such as magnitude, precise location, depth, and time of occurrence. You can instantly learn where the earthquake happened, how powerful it was, how deep below the surface it struck, and when it occurred. This depth of data helps users make informed decisions or study global earthquake trends. Get real-time earthquake alerts directly on your device. As soon as a significant seismic event is reported, the app will send you a push notification so you’re always informed. These alerts can be essential for emergency preparedness, especially in regions prone to earthquake activity. The alert system works seamlessly with the USGS and other global data feeds to ensure accurate and timely information. Earthquake Tracker Alerts also provides a live earthquake feed that is updated continuously with verified reports. You can scroll through the feed to view a list of recent quakes, organized by time, region, and strength. It's ideal for users who want quick, up-to-date snapshots of what's happening across the globe. This app is designed for anyone who wants to stay informed—emergency planners, geologists, researchers, travelers, or anyone living in earthquake-prone zones. It’s also useful for those who want to learn more about global seismic patterns or monitor earthquakes as part of their job or studies. To help users and the App Store algorithm better understand the app, we’ve strategically included the following keywords: earthquake, earthquakes, earthquake alert, earthquake alerts, earthquake tracker, earthquake app, alerts, quake, quakes, earthquake network, USGS, maps, earthquake activity, quake feed, earthquake alerts, earth quake alert, equake, earthq, eathquake, and more. These keywords help the app surface in relevant searches without overcrowding the app’s metadata. Our strategy is simple but effective: focus entirely on one primary keyword—earthquake—and support it with closely related terms to provide context to the App Store algorithm. This “less is more” approach ensures the app ranks well for its most relevant audience while maintaining a clean, professional listing that is easy to read and user-focused. Download Earthquake Tracker Alerts today to gain 24/7 access to reliable seismic data, powerful alerts, and an intuitive interface that puts critical earthquake information at your fingertips. Be prepared, stay safe, and always know when the earth moves. EULA: https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/
