Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Speedometer at 4.6 against Speedometer 2's 3.6. Speedometer also leads on ratings volume (109 vs 8). Speedometer 2's advantage is update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 3 months) and device support (3 vs 1). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Speedometer 2 sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Speedometer sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Speedometer 2 ships an update every 2 weeks, Speedometer every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on September 29, 2026 and October 4, 2026 respectively.
