Solitaire: rules and basics The object Build four stacks of cards, one for each suit, in ascending order, from ace to king. The table Windows solitaire is played with a single deck of 52 cards. The game begins with 28 cards arranged into seven columns. The first column contains one card, the second has two cards, and so on. The top card in each column is face up, the rest are face down. Four Home stacks are positioned at the upper-right corner. This is where you build the piles needed to win. How to play Each Home stack must start with an ace. If you don't have any, you'll have to move cards between columns until you uncover one. You can't move cards between columns at random, however. Columns must be built in descending order, from king to ace. So you can place a 10 on a jack, but not on a 3. As an added twist, cards in columns must also alternate red and black. You aren't limited to moving single cards. You can also move sequentially organized runs of cards between columns. Just click the deepest card in the run and drag them all to another column. If you run out of moves, you'll have to draw more cards by clicking the deck in the upper-left corner. If the deck runs out, click its outline on the table to reshuffle it. You can move a card to the Home stack either by dragging it or by double-clicking it. Scoring Under Standard scoring, you receive five points for moving a card from the deck to a column, and 10 points for each card added to a Home stack. If a game takes more than 30 seconds, you also receive bonus points based on the time it takes to finish. The bonus formula: 700,000 divided by total game time in seconds. Thus, the highest possible Standard score is 24,113! To change the scoring system, click the settings button.

Finish a classic Klondike hand without fighting clutter, losing your place, or guessing what move comes next. Play faster, learn why a hand went wrong, and keep your daily solitaire streak going. Solitaire Cards Games Classic helps card players play Klondike, track progress, and review key decisions after each hand. Start with the board right away, not menus. Open the app and land directly on the Klondike table, then play a quick Draw-1 or Draw-3 hand, pick Random Deals, switch to Winning Deals when you want solvable boards, or jump into the Daily Challenge when you want the same deal everyone gets today. If you force close in the middle of a game, your hand resumes where you left it with your score, time, and moves still there. When you get stuck, tap Hint for a suggested move, use Undo or Redo freely, and use Finish hand near the end to skip the long clean-up when the win is already clear. - Play Klondike your way with Draw-1 or Draw-3. - Choose Random Deals, Winning Deals, or the Daily Challenge. - Move cards by drag, send legal cards up with a double tap, and tap the stock to flip new cards. - Use unlimited Undo and Redo when you want to test a line. - Get a Hint that highlights the suggested source and destination. - Let auto-complete finish the win once the hand is open. - Pause a hand, restart it, or deal a new one without leaving the board. - Track score, time, moves, win rate, streaks, best win time, and hand history. - Filter and sort past hands, replay the same seed, or delete a result you do not want in your stats. - Share a daily streak, a hand summary, or a Coach review as plain text. - Pick from free card backs and table felts, with more looks available in Pro. - Add widgets for today’s daily, your streak, or a quick new deal. Use it on a commute when you want one finished solitaire game before your stop, at breakfast when you want today’s Daily Challenge and a streak check, after a tough loss when you want Coach review to show the biggest decision points, or when you want only Winning Deals instead of unsolved random boards. It also fits players who like to sort hand history by fastest finish, replay a past board, or share a daily result with friends. Learn from each hand instead of getting a vague tip. Coach review checks your moves against the same logic behind the in-game Hint button, then shows up to three high-impact moments with clear explanations. The review is created on your device, and if a rewritten explanation is not available, you still get the same structured analysis. No account is needed, and your progress stays on your iPhone. Get more from Pro when you want deeper play. Pro adds unlimited Coach reviews, mid-hand strategy hints from Coach, advanced stats like draw-mode win rates and trends, more card backs and felts, and a Listen mode for Coach reviews. Free players can use one Coach review per day. Play a clean, classic solitaire game, keep your daily streak alive, and get better with every hand.
