Root Down is an original abstract strategy game designed by Martin Grider for 2-players. It's rules about which pieces you can move are a little quirky, but once you figure it out, it's very quick to play, and has some interesting gameplay mechanics. In Root Down, you have two types of pieces. There are "kicker" pieces that must be next to a "root" piece to move. (Root pieces cannot move.) Kickers can only move exactly as far as the number of kickers next to the root. After a kicker moves, it "kicks" all of the neighboring pieces, then settles down into a new "root" piece. If you kick one of your own root pieces, it becomes another "kicker"! Kicking an opponent's root does the same, and if you kick it again before it has a chance to move, you'll to capture it! The game features an AI player, as well as pass-and-play options. There are several variable setups to chose from. Each one plays slightly different. Tactics

Tactics: Infinite Logic – Claim the Row. Master the Bridge. Forget the chaos of random chance. Tactics is a pure, deterministic duel of spatial dominance. Built on a refined, interconnected grid, every match is a handcrafted battle of foresight, positioning, and psychological pressure. There are no dice, no random power-ups, and no luck. Just you, the board, and a perfect sequence of moves waiting to be executed. Can you outmaneuver the machine? THE STRATEGY REVOLUTION In Tactics, every node is a battlefield. Unlike traditional board games where pieces are captured and removed, Tacticsis a game of constant presence and territorial control. You must navigate your entire squad into the enemy’s home row while preventing them from doing the same. It’s not just a game of movement; it’s a game of containment. KEY FEATURES The Adaptive Engine Powered by a sophisticated evaluation algorithm, the AI calculates distance, board control, and sudden-death risks in real-time. Whether you are a novice or a grandmaster, the computer adapts to your style, forcing you to evolve or be outflanked. The Center Bridge The board’s architecture features a singular, high-stakes bottleneck: the center bridge. Control this central axis to paralyze your opponent’s advancement or sacrifice it to lure them into a tactical trap. Sudden Death & Anti-Camping Frustration is replaced by momentum. If the battle stalls, the "Forced Camping" rule kicks in, pushing players out of their comfort zones. If no winner emerges by turn 60, the game enters Sudden Death, where every move toward the goal carries lethal weight. Minimalist Tactical Aesthetic Experience a "Combat-Modern" design where high-contrast red and blue pieces clash on a crisp, architectural canvas. The UI is engineered for absolute clarity, with glowing move-hints and animated transitions that keep you immersed in the flow of the battle. The Undo Advantage Made a fatal miscalculation? Use the Undo system to rewind time and explore a different timeline. Perfect your strategy by testing "what if" scenarios against the AI until your logic is airtight. GAMEPLAY HIGHLIGHTS: • Pure Strategy: A zero-luck experience where victory is a testament to your spatial IQ. • The No-Retreat Rule: A deep tactical constraint that prevents immediate backtracking, forcing you to think three steps ahead. • Local PvP: Challenge friends in a 1v1 battle of wits on a single device. • Fluid Motion: Seamless piece animations and haptic feedback make every strategic shift feel impactful. The rows are set. The bridge is open. The pieces are waiting. Download Tactics today and claim your victory.
