Verdict
The clearest difference is update cadence: Steps+ at every 2 weeks against Pedometer's every 3 months. Steps+ also leads on rating (4.8 vs 4.6). Pedometer's advantage is iOS requirement (15.0 vs 26.0). On price, review sentiment, ratings volume and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Steps+ sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month and Pedometer sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
Steps+ holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.6. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 1.3K and 939 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 80% of Steps+'s written reviews are positive against 84% of Pedometer's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Steps+ ships an update every 2 weeks, Pedometer every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on September 20, 2026 and September 22, 2026 respectively.
