Lots of countries (e.g. in Europe, Latin America) have the tradition to celebrate name days. It consists of celebrating a day of the year that is associated with one's given name. There are one to five (first)names assigned to each day of the year. In some countries “name day” is a large and important part of the culture. It’s like birthdays but in some ways even better. When you have your name day even your cell phone provider sends you a greeting! If a given name is celebrated on more than one day, it is customary to choose the first day after the celebrant's birthday.
