Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: My Homework at 5.0 against Tynker Junior's 4.5. My Homework also leads on iOS requirement (10.0 vs 15.0). Tynker Junior's advantage is ratings volume (4.2K vs 1) and update cadence (every 2 months vs every 7 months). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. My Homework sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Tynker Junior sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
My Homework holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Tynker Junior has 4.2K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 40% of My Homework's written reviews are positive against 59% of Tynker Junior's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
My Homework ships an update every 7 months, Tynker Junior every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and November 6, 2026 respectively.
