Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: My Homework at 5.0 against Homework Tracker's 4.0. My Homework also leads on iOS requirement (10.0 vs 13.0). Homework Tracker's advantage is review sentiment (67% vs 40%) and update cadence (every 2 months vs every 7 months). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. My Homework sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Homework Tracker sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $1.69 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
My Homework holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Homework Tracker has 7 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 40% of My Homework's written reviews are positive against 67% of Homework Tracker's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
My Homework ships an update every 7 months, Homework Tracker every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 6, 2026 respectively.
