Verdict
Mo PTT and Plurk both sit at 4.8 stars, but that hides the real split: 62% of Plurk's written reviews are positive against 22% of Mo PTT's. Plurk also leads on ratings volume (542 vs 66). Mo PTT's advantage is update cadence (every 4 days vs every 9 days). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Mo PTT sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $1.99 per month and Plurk sells 4 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.8 for Mo PTT against 4.7 for Plurk. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Plurk has 542 ratings behind it against 66, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 22% of Mo PTT's written reviews are positive against 62% of Plurk's.
Mo PTT ships an update every 4 days, Plurk every 9 days. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 18, 2026 respectively.
