Both are free to download. Linguin sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $8.99 per month. UMH app asks for nothing beyond the download.
UMH app holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Linguin has 169 ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 23% of UMH app's written reviews are positive against 45% of Linguin's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on November 6, 2026 and November 8, 2026 respectively.
