About

TIVAinSight

Features

TIVAinSight is a PK/PD simulator that calculates and plots the plasma (Cp) and effect-site (Ce) concentrations of intravenous anesthetics and opioids given by infusion or bolus, using a three-compartment model with an effect site. It is software for the education and research of anesthesiologists, residents and other clinicians. It is not a medical device and must not be used for dosing decisions or dosing plans in actual patients. Features - Four drugs (propofol, remimazolam, remifentanil, fentanyl) and 17 PK/PD models (Marsh, Schnider, Eleveld, Kataria, Short, Paedfusor, Minto, Kim, Rigby-Jones, Shafer, Scott, Masui, Schüttler and more) - Two drugs at once, each in Manual (rate), TCI (plasma target) or ETCI (effect-site target) mode - Boluses, per-kg bolus chips and quick chips for common targets and rates - Fast-forward from x1 to x300 (the calculation always uses a 1-second step with the classical fourth-order Runge–Kutta method) - Chart with a callout that always shows the current Cp, Ce, infusion rate and total dose (can be hidden; shows the values at the cursor when you point at a time), two Y axes, drag to pan, pinch or drag the time axis to zoom time, and scale each Y axis - Settings in tabs (left panel on the wide screen of a Mac or iPad, bottom panel on iPhone), usable without scrolling on typical screen sizes; on iPhone the chart keeps its size when you switch tabs - CSDT / CSHT: predicted time for Ce to fall by a chosen percentage or to a custom target after stopping the infusion - Presentation mode (Mac and iPad): enlarged chart, readouts, chips and CSDT for projecting in lectures and talks (full screen on Mac) - mL/h dose unit: set the syringe concentration to enter and show rates in mL/h and boluses in mL - Patient presets (adult, elderly, child, infant) and body-size indices (BMI, LBM, FFM, ...) - Verification screen: runs, on this device, the same Level-1 verification as the manuscript (43 runs, 720,092 values compared with the exact matrix-exponential solution) and 24 published reference checks - References (DOI, PMID), populations and parameters for every model - CSV export; Japanese and English interface The app follows the same calculation procedure as the web version of TIVAinSight (https://msanuki.com/TIVAinSight/) and gives the same values for the same inputs. Notes - The Cp / Ce values are model-based estimates and are not guaranteed to match measured values. - Do not use it, including the TCI / ETCI displays, paediatric models and mL/h conversions, for dosing decisions or dosing plans in actual patients. Real TCI pumps use algorithms validated by their manufacturers. - All calculations stay on your device; nothing is sent anywhere. There is no account, advertising or analytics.
