Stratus Insight is a full electronic flight bag (EFB) suite for pilots that includes AHRS with synthetic vision, TAWS, VFR sectional maps, IFR low/high charts, and geo-referenced approach plates. Please note, this app only supports airports and approach plates for US ONLY. We don't have worldwide data available at this time. More than an EFB, Stratus Insight also offers: Internet Traffic Follow along and monitor ADS-B traffic from the ground. Enable this overlay and watch as traffic is shown in real-time on the map. Radio Transcription & Playback Stratus Insight boasts a custom-built speech recognition system inside the app. When paired with a Stratus Audio Cable, the ATC Radio Transcription feature works similar to visual voicemail. ATC communications are converted into text, providing a helpful visual assist for referencing previous audio clips. This enables pilots to receive a clearance, ATIS, or other important ATC communications without needing to write them down Vertical Weather Profile The Vertical Weather Profile previews your route in the vertical slice from departure to destination, up to eight days out, so you can see the conditions you’ll encounter based on your departure time, aircraft speed, and each intermediate airport. Submit PIREPs online Running into some light chop? Submit a PIREP directly from the app to help your fellow pilots. This feature is unique only to Stratus Insight. Smart Flight Plan If a TFR or changes in weather force you to take an alternate route, the Smart Flight Plan tool considers things like fuel stops and day/night currency. Documents Store and organize all your required flight documents in one place. Uses iCloud to save and sync your documents between devices. Weight and Balance Now you can ensure you are ready for flight by performing W&B in the app for each of your aircraft. Radar Forecast Radar Forecast provides long-term weather radar simulations up to three days out, and you can fast forward your weather radar in one-hour increments. Stratus Audio Cable The Stratus Audio Cable (available to purchase for $49.99 from the Appareo web store) is needed to enable the radio transcription and playback feature. Seamless Integration with Stratus The app supports all generations of Stratus receivers, and the user experience is seamless. Stratus receivers provide WAAS GPS, AHRS, in-flight weather, and ADS-B traffic. Stratus Logbook Integration Automatically send your flights to Stratus Logbook, a free logbook app made by Appareo. Apple Watch Uses HealthKit to detect hypoxia-like symptoms for pilot health monitoring including nearby airport weather watch faces and weather radar on watch.

What better way to keep abreast of current conditions than with a beautiful METAR widget, right on your home screen? Although these widgets look simple, they’ve been carefully designed and built to give you the most important information at a glance, while meshing seamlessly with iOS17’s features and design language. Here are a few of the things that make these widgets special: THEMES Choose a subtle theme that looks right at home on your iPhone or iPad, or a more bold and colorful theme that catches your eye more effectively. SMART… Each widget can figure out what weather factors to display. Generally, special weather conditions (e.g. rain, show, haze, smoke, tornadoes) take precedence, followed by any conditions that caused the current flight condition, like low cloud bases or limited visibility. Wind is always visible. … OR NOT Alternatively, you can use the “Retro” theme to display raw METAR text and practice your interpretation skills (great for exam prep). Protip - put both widget types in a Stack (drag one on top of the other), so you can flip between them! REALTIME All METAR widgets update in realtime, in the background. You can force a refresh anytime by simply launching the app. DARK MODE Widgets seamlessly follow the system-wide light/dark mode setting, which means they’ll be easier on your eyes once the sun goes down. Also, all colors across the app and widgets have been tuned to reduce eye strain when viewing in low-light conditions. FULL METAR VIEW Tap on any widget to launch the app and view the full details. Here, you can also toggle between visual and text modes. SAVE YOUR FAVORITE STATIONS You can save and manage your favorite stations in the app, which makes it even faster to set up a new widget. Thanks for reading this far! I’m an experienced software developer and a new PPL, and I built this while learning to fly in a J-3 cub. All proceeds will go to tailwheel time, and any feedback/reviews are much appreciated!
