Verdict
The clearest difference is ads: Apple Tree at none against Orange Tree's shown. Apple Tree also leads on review sentiment (100% vs 65%) and iOS requirement (8.0 vs 17.0). Orange Tree's advantage is ratings volume (205 vs 1) and rating (4.3 vs 4.0). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.
Scored on Price · Rating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings · Update frequency · Ads · In-app purchases · Monetization · Best chart rank · Devices · Requires iOS
Both are free to download. Orange Tree sells 3 one-off in-app purchases and Apple Tree sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
Orange Tree holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Orange Tree has 205 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 65% of Orange Tree's written reviews are positive against 100% of Apple Tree's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Orange Tree ships an update every 3 months, Apple Tree every 5 months. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
