Verdict
The clearest difference is ads: Like a CD Player at none against Muzik Box's shown. Like a CD Player also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.6) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). Muzik Box's advantage is ratings volume (322 vs 4) and review sentiment (79% vs 67%). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.
Scored on Price · Rating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings · Update frequency · Ads · In-app purchases · Monetization · Best chart rank · Devices · Requires iOS
Both are free to download. Like a CD Player sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Muzik Box sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
Like a CD Player holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Muzik Box has 322 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 67% of Like a CD Player's written reviews are positive against 79% of Muzik Box's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Like a CD Player ships an update every 4 weeks, Muzik Box every 6 weeks. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
