Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Newtalk新聞 at 4.0 against 民視新聞's 2.8. 民視新聞's advantage is review sentiment (33% vs 17%) and ratings volume (6 vs 1). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
Newtalk新聞 holds the better App Store score, 4.0 against 2.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: 民視新聞 has 6 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 33% of 民視新聞's written reviews are positive against 17% of Newtalk新聞's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
民視新聞 ships an update every 2 months, Newtalk新聞 every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and November 2, 2026 respectively.
