Math Monsters is free to download; Mountain's Diary costs $0.99 up front. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
Mountain's Diary holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Math Monsters has 6 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 33% of Mountain's Diary's written reviews are positive against 100% of Math Monsters's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
