Verdict
TV Remote ‣ and Remote Control for Roku both sit at 4.5 stars, but that hides the real split: 70% of TV Remote ‣'s written reviews are positive against 52% of Remote Control for Roku's. TV Remote ‣ also leads on iOS requirement (9.0 vs 12.0). On price, rating, ratings volume and update cadence there is nothing between them.
Scored on Price · Rating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings · Update frequency · Ads · In-app purchases · Monetization · Best chart rank · Devices · Requires iOS
Both are free to download. TV Remote ‣ sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Remote Control for Roku sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
Remote Control for Roku holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.5. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 8.9K and 3.5K respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 70% of TV Remote ‣'s written reviews are positive against 52% of Remote Control for Roku's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
