Verdict
网易云课堂 and VideoNotes both sit at 4.8 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of VideoNotes's written reviews are positive against 66% of 网易云课堂's. 网易云课堂's advantage is ratings volume (1K vs 13) and device support (3 vs 1). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.
Scored on Price · Rating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings · Update frequency · Ads · In-app purchases · Monetization · Best chart rank · Devices · Requires iOS
Both are free to download. 网易云课堂 sells 10 one-off in-app purchases and VideoNotes sells 2 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.8 for 网易云课堂 against 4.8 for VideoNotes. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: 网易云课堂 has 1K ratings behind it against 13, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 66% of 网易云课堂's written reviews are positive against 100% of VideoNotes's.
网易云课堂 ships an update fortnightly, VideoNotes every 9 days. Both last shipped on October 17, 2026.
