Verdict
The clearest difference is review sentiment: Teachers Grade Book at 100% against Math Learner's 23%. Teachers Grade Book also leads on monetization model (free vs subscription) and ads (none vs shown). Math Learner's advantage is rating (4.6 vs 4.0) and update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 3 months). On price and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.
Scored on Price · Rating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings · Update frequency · Ads · In-app purchases · Monetization · Best chart rank · Devices · Requires iOS
Both are free to download. Teachers Grade Book sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Math Learner sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
Math Learner holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Math Learner has 121K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of Teachers Grade Book's written reviews are positive against 23% of Math Learner's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Teachers Grade Book ships an update every 3 months, Math Learner every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 8, 2026 and October 19, 2026 respectively.
