You can check the battery status of your phone and watch with your watch. Compatible with complications (automatic update). You can check the charging amount and charging status of the phone in a timely manner from the clock face. We will notify you by a notification when the charge amount of the phone or watch becomes less than the specified% or becomes full charge. The graph also displays the change in charge level for your phone and watch. - Set up complications with the watch app on your watch or phone. - The battery status displayed in the complication is automatically updated approximately every 12 to 60 minutes. The reason why the update interval has a range is that it depends on Watch OS. If the automatic update has stopped (for example, there is no update for more than 1.5 hour), tap the complication to restart it. In the iPhone app, the latest update time is displayed under the watch's charge status display. - Tap the complication to update to the latest status. - A circular complication can be assigned to the outer circle and the inner number to indicate the battery level of the phone and watch, respectively. -- I am a Japanese developer. Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is rating: Battery Testing at 4.5 against BatteryPhone's 3.6. Battery Testing also leads on ratings volume (12K vs 156) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 2 months). BatteryPhone's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 1) and review sentiment (54% vs 23%). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Battery Testing sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. BatteryPhone asks for nothing beyond the download.

ReceptionRating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings

Battery Testing holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 3.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Battery Testing has 12K ratings behind it against 156, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 23% of Battery Testing's written reviews are positive against 54% of BatteryPhone's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

Battery Testing ships an update fortnightly, BatteryPhone every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on September 24, 2026 and September 6, 2026 respectively.
