Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Donna at none against CameraKit's 3. Donna also leads on iOS requirement (8.0 vs 15.0). CameraKit's advantage is rating (4.7 vs 4.3) and ratings volume (321 vs 10). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. CameraKit sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Donna asks for nothing beyond the download.

ReceptionRating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings

CameraKit holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: CameraKit has 321 ratings behind it against 10, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 66% of CameraKit's written reviews are positive against 71% of Donna's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on September 29, 2026 and October 15, 2026 respectively.
