ALF Checklist vs Teg

The Acute Liver Failure Checklist app was developed by the Acute Liver Failure Study Group, a NIH-funded cooperative network formed to study this rare and devastating disease, which has enrolled over 2000 patients since 1998. It is designed for use by medical professionals caring for patients in the intensive care unit with acute liver failure, which is a short-term hepatic illness associated with coagulopathy and hepatic encephalopathy (mental status changes associated with liver failure). The goals of this checklist: 1) improve and standardize clinical management, 2) improve diagnostic acumen, and 3) improve patient survival. TEG-APP is a useful application to understand thromboelastography (TEG) from the basis to TEG-Platelet Mapping (TEG-PM) and to easy patient’s bleeding management in different clinical scenarios both in operating theater and in intensive care unit. This application is divided in three sections: 1) Introduction 2) Teg Calculator 3) News. Introduction gives informations from Classical TEG to Platelet Mapping. Teg-Calculator is a useful tool to perform the most correct pharmacological therapy comparing results obtained from Calculator with bleeding’s clinical evaluation and laboratory data. News gives informations about significative papers, books and meetings concerning clinical coagulation management.
