Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Hik at 5.0 against FREEIP's 4.4. Hik also leads on ads (none vs shown) and monetization model (free vs ad-supported). FREEIP's advantage is ratings volume (1.2K vs 2) and review sentiment (25% vs 0%). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
Hik holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: FREEIP has 1.2K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 25% of FREEIP's written reviews are positive against 0% of Hik's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
FREEIP ships an update monthly, Hik every 5 months. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
