Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is rating: Pyonkee at 3.7 against PictoBlox Junior Blocks's 3.0. Pyonkee also leads on ratings volume (53 vs 2). PictoBlox Junior Blocks's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 62%) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 4 months). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

ReceptionRating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings

Pyonkee holds the better App Store score, 3.7 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Pyonkee has 53 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 62% of Pyonkee's written reviews are positive against 100% of PictoBlox Junior Blocks's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

Pyonkee ships an update every 4 months, PictoBlox Junior Blocks every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
