Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Auto Lube Specs at 4.1 against Dayco's 3.6. Auto Lube Specs also leads on ratings volume (87 vs 11). Dayco's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 6 weeks vs every 12 months). On price, review sentiment, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
Auto Lube Specs holds the better App Store score, 4.1 against 3.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Auto Lube Specs has 87 ratings behind it against 11, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 55% of Dayco's written reviews are positive against 52% of Auto Lube Specs's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Dayco ships an update every 6 weeks, Auto Lube Specs every 12 months. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
