Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: SAFE 2 SAVE at 4.8 against Check My Bail's 3.3. SAFE 2 SAVE also leads on update cadence (every 5 weeks vs every 10 months) and ratings volume (8.6K vs 32). Check My Bail's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 4) and ads (none vs shown). On price, review sentiment, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. SAFE 2 SAVE sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Check My Bail asks for nothing beyond the download.
SAFE 2 SAVE holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 3.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: SAFE 2 SAVE has 8.6K ratings behind it against 32, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 50% of Check My Bail's written reviews are positive against 45% of SAFE 2 SAVE's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Check My Bail ships an update every 10 months, SAFE 2 SAVE every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 10, 2026 and October 18, 2026 respectively.
