Verdict
The clearest difference is ads: 99 Problems at none against Magic Touch's shown. 99 Problems also leads on review sentiment (74% vs 62%) and iOS requirement (6.1 vs 12.0). Magic Touch's advantage is ratings volume (1.2K vs 38) and rating (4.5 vs 4.3). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. 99 Problems sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Magic Touch sells 4 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
Magic Touch holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Magic Touch has 1.2K ratings behind it against 38, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 74% of 99 Problems's written reviews are positive against 62% of Magic Touch's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
99 Problems ships an update every 3 months, Magic Touch every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 11, 2026 and October 16, 2026 respectively.
